Second EPACTT-2 Consortium meeting convenes in Tallinn, Estonia

The EPACTT-2 (EuroPean Accredited Curriculum on Tobacco Treatment-2) project aims to continue the development and expansion of an accredited curriculum for tobacco cessation in 15 European countries (Albania, Armenia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Italy, Kosovo, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Ukraine) and to enhance the formulation of a network of healthcare professionals that will be dedicated to advancing evidence-based tobacco dependence treatment.

The second meeting of the consortium was held within the context of an ENSP capacity building event for 2017 in Tallinn, Estonia from 13-15 November 2017. During the meeting, the progress of the e-learning development was presented to the partners and the accreditation process was also discussed as well as the progress of the 2017 Guidelines for Treating Tobacco Dependence translation.

During the capacity building event, the voice-over recording activities of the project’s e-learning, which is currently under development, were also conducted. Representatives from each of the 15 countries recorded the voice coverage of all five modules in his/her respective language.

The Coordinator of the project, Dr. Constantine Vardavas, expressed his confidence that we will soon have a fully operational, accredited e-learning tool that is up-to-date in respect to international literature for integration of  tobacco treatment into daily clinical practice and routine of all healthcare professionals.

The next meeting of the consortium is set to be held during the ENSP – CNPT International Conference on Tobacco Control 2018, 14-16 June, in Madrid, Spain.
